Sweet Potato and Spinach Curry

Spinach contains lots of vitamins. Infact raw spinach is full of nutrients. One cup of raw spinach contains 0.86 grams of protein and 7 calories.

Spinach contains vitamin C and fiber which help in curing lots of diseases so now you know all the merits of including spinach in your everyday diet. On the same time if you have gas or acidity problem then you should avoid eating spinach. When you cook spinach with potato then the outcome is really tasty. I have a delicious Indian spinach recipe for you which can be served to 4-5 people.

Ingredients for Aloo Spinach Curry:

  • Spinach(1bunch you can use fresh or frozen)
  • Potato(1medium cut into small cubes)
  • Tomato(1small cut into small pieces)
  • Garlic(4-5pod)
  • Onion(1 ½ chopped)
  • Cumin seed(1tsp)
  • Turmeric powder(1tsp)
  • Chili powder(1tsp or according to taste)
  • Salt(to taste)
  • Oil(1tsp)

How to Make Spinach Sabji:

  • Cut and wash the spinach. Drain excess water using paper towel or strainer.
  • Take a pan, add oil to it when oil become hot add potato, chopped onion, 1-2 pod of crush garlic.
  • Now add turmeric powder, salt and stir it for 2-3 minutes. Now add chopped tomato to the mix and stir it well. Fry the potato till it is cooked.
  • Now add the spinach to the cooked potato and mix well. Cook it in a medium to low heat till spinach gets cook.
  • Now take another pan add little oil, when oil become hot add cumin seeds and allow it to crackle, then add some slice onion and shorted it with oil for a while. At last add garlic to it and fry it for a while and mix this to the spinach.
  • Now your hot aloo spinach is ready to serve.
